Ryan Peterson was a man on the move Saturday at the Roy Griak Invitational. The North St. Paul, MN senior finished seventh overall in a field of 235 runners at the prestigious event held at the U of Minnesota golf course. Peterson's time of 27:07.4  in the 8K event was a mere 11 seconds out of first place. it was his second Top Ten finish in as many meets this fall.

The Pipers placed three runners in the Top 20 in the race and finished a close fifth -- just three points behind St. John's. Peterson ran the first k in just 3:20 and was in 40th place. By the 3K mark, he was in 18th position and he continued to gain ground from there. The Pipers continue their training for the MIAC meet Nov. 1 when they run at the St. Catherine Invitational October 11.
