Perfection is a goal often desired but rarely attained. Derrrick Mora, however, did it for the Hamline men's soccer team. The senior goalie faced 23 shots last week and stopped them all as the Pipers tied Augsburg 0-0 in 2 OTs and then edge Carleton 1-0. For the week, the Eagan, MN native recorded 23 saves to take over the MIAC lead in that department with 65. 

Derrick stopped 14 -- the most by any MIAC tender this year -- in the scoreless tie with the Auggies. Included in that effort : three in the second OT as the Auggies pushed hard for the win.

He came back with nine (six in the second half alone) as HU gained a crucial win that kept their playoff hopes alive. HU has matched their win total of last season already with a 6-7-2 overall mark. They have seven points in MIAC play, just one win behind Augsburg and St. Thomas -- the teams tied for the last playoff spot.

HU has three games remaining.

They get a full week off to rest and ready themselves for a game against the team directly ahead of them in standings -- Bethel -- Saturday in Arden Hills. Game time is 11:00 a.m.
