To succeed on the volleyball court, a team must be solid up front, take care of the middle and be able to defend the back line as well. HU senior Miquel (Micki) Green has stepped into the large shoes left by the graduation of former Co-Defensive Player of the Year Lynsey Reimer and kept the back line humming.

Green is currently leading the Pipers in Digs with 179. That rates fourth in the MIAC as does her avereage of 5.11 Digs Per Set. She was paritcularly active last weekend, registering 81 digs in four matches as the Pipers competed in a tournament at Stevens Point, Wis. Micki saved her best for last -- comning up with 30 digs (one short of her season high) in a match against John Carroll. She has been helpful in other ways as well. The senior has 36 assists and is second on the team in Service Aces with eight.

Green and the Pipers (5-5 overall) play Monday night at UW-Superior. They open MIAC play Wednesday at Carleton.
