Brendan Nachtrieb was a man on the run last Saturday. The sophomore running back's work load was heavy but it paid off nicely with a total of 135 yards offense as in Hamline's competitive 30-20 loss to nationally ranked Concordia at Klas Field. 

The Metamora, Illinois native had career highs in rushing (23 carries for 118 yards) and pass receptions (three for 17) as the Pipers kept pace with Concordia for nearly the entire afternoon.

On the second HU drive of the game (which resulted in a touchdown that gave Hamline a 14-7 lead), Nachtrieb carried the ball six times and a caught a pass.

With fellow RB Austin Duncan slowed down due to injury, Nachtrieb has assumed more of a workhorse mode in recent weeks. He has rushed for 247 of his 315 yards in the past three games. His three receptions against the Cobbers was one more than he had accumulated in all his previous games. 

Nachtrieb and the Pipers will look to improve on  those numbers on Saturday, October 31 when they play at St. Olaf in Northfield. Game time is 1:00 p.m.
