Mitch Hall made his presence felt at both ends of the ice for the Hamline men's hockey team in 2016-17. More than just Piper fans took note of that fact.

The St. Cloud, Minn. native was named to the AHCA (American Hockey Coaches Association) West All-America men's hockey second team announced last week. It is the first time that Hall has earned a spot with this elite group and marked the third straight season a Hamline men's hockey player has been named to an All-American team.

On offense, Mitch scored six goals and added 23 assists for 29 points. He led the MIAC in assists and in points for a blueliner. He was just as impressive in his own end, blocking a dozen shots and finishing as the top defenseman (and second overall on the team) with a +12 rating.

He has been a pair of three consecutive MIAC playoff teams and one NCAA quarterfinalist. The Pipers finished the 2016-17 season with a 10-10-6 overall mark.
