It took Chris Williford a little more than nine games to record his first college goal. But once he got the hang of it, he perfected the technique in a hurry.

The Ray, MI freshman had a three goal hat trick to help the Pipers to a 5-4 win over Northland on January 11 at Oscar Johnson Arena. 

Williford scored twice in the second period as the Pipers povercame an early LumberJack advantage. With HU trailing 4-3 in the third period, Williford was inserted on the power play and promptly scored his third goal of the day. Later, Brandon Zurn scored the gamewinner for Hamline, which returns to MIAC action this week with a home and home series against St. Olaf.
