Zurn Nets Pair As Pipers Fall In OT

Box Score Brandon Zurn scored twice but the Pipers gave up a last minute goal and lost to UW-Stout, 5-4, in overtime in Menominee, Wis. Saturday night.

Joe Rubbelke and Cam Stowers also scored for the Pipers, who fell to 0-13-2 overall.

After Zurn opened the scoring, the Blue Devils netted the next three tallies. Down 3-1 in the third period, Zurn an Rubbelke scored two minutes apart to tie the game.

Stowers gave HU the lead at 7:50 of the final frame but UWS came back to tie it and then scored the winner in the final minute of the extra session.

Hamline unloaded a season high 45 shots on goal.

The Pipers return to MIAC action January 11 with a home game against St. Thomas in Mendota Heights.
