Chelsea Koehn (pictured) picked up where she left off last year with a goal. But that was all the Piper women's hockey team could muster in a 12-1 loss  in their season opening game at UW-Superior Friday night.

HU was outshot, 29-18 for the night. UWS grabbed a 3-0 lead in the first period. They scored early in the second period when Koehn, who led the Pipers in scoring last season. broke in on the right side and rifled one home. The Yellowjackets then broke the game only with seven more tallies in the second and one in the third.

Hamline gets a chance to even the slate Saturday. Game time is 2:00 p.m.
